The NYU Advancement Programs team engages alumni, parents, students, and friends of NYU through events and programs to deepen their connections with the University. The team is responsible for alumni clubs, cultivation and stewardship events, connecting students and alumni through events, producing major annual signature events, such as the Pan-Asia Alumni Conference, and other special projects throughout the year.
The Annual Fund team helps create an engaged, equitable, and innovative community. We raise valuable unrestricted gifts for NYU and NYU Shanghai while growing engagement, participation and a donor pipeline.
The Alumni Relations Fellow is a key member of the Alumni and Annual Fund programs based in Shanghai, primarily focus on supporting alumni events and programs, as well as volunteer engagement management in Asia. The fellow will also support fundraising campaigns and programs.
The main responsibilities include:
Support the NYU Alumni Programs in Asia (20%)
Assist alumni club event planning and execution including onsite event support, code event, manage volunteer database and keep the website updated.
Asist club volunteer management, training to volunteers, recruit and onboard new volunteers, and stewardship.
Assist in research and planning on improving volunteer experience, best practices and resources for volunteers.
Support alumni and student engagement programs such as the Executive Mentor Program, Alumni Speakers and etc.
Support the Annual Fund Programs in Asia and Shanghai (35%)
Support the annual fund campaigns in Asia and at NYU Shanghai, in particular the NYU Shanghai 10th Anniversary campaign, including assisting with campaign design and implementation,
Working with the student volunteers to develop innovative programs for the 2013 Fund, the school’s senior class gift, to increase awareness and participation. Staff tabling and events.
Manage donor data and support the donor stewardship efforts.
Support the NYU Shanghai Alumni Programs (35%)
Help implement a strong NYU Shanghai alumni programs using the 10th year anniversary opportunity.
Train volunteers. Partner with volunteers to plan events to achieve the above goal, including a half-day Alumni Open House.
Assist in outreach, marketing and communications to the school’s alumni community.
Work on video program(s) for the 10th anniversary celebration.
Data collection and management.
Additional Responsibilities (10%)
Data entry;
General office administration;

Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Required Experience
Previous working experience in alumni relations, development, marketing communications, or business development preferred.
Previous working experience in U.S. higher education institutes preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Native Mandarin speaker.
Excellent speaking, writing and communications skills in English and mandarin.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and relationship building skills;
Ability to work independently as well as with colleague across the team;
Facility with Microsoft Office, experience using graphic design and video editing preferred;
Availability on evenings and weekends.
