Discovery Oncology Senior Scientist~Associate Principal Scientist Department：Discovery Oncology Location：Zhangjiang, Shanghai The Company Harbour BioMed is a Global Biotherapeutics Company primarily focused on inventing, developing, manufacturing and commercializing novel therapeutics for the treatment of serious medical conditions in oncology, and immunology. HBM has labs and business operations in Cambridge in the US, Rotterdam in Netherlands and Shanghai and Suzhou, China. We aim to help people with complex and debilitating conditions by identifying unmet medical and patient needs and driving strong science supported by our two patented transgenic mouse platforms for generating fully human monoclonal antibodies. Our approach is shaped by our experienced team’s capability in delivering highly specialized treatments and forging close relationships with physicians and patients to understand the NextGen treatments that will provide hope to patients and their families around the world. Responsibilities: 1. Keeps up with the latest progresses in immunotherapy for cancers. Contributes to the discovery project and pipeline selection, validation, decision. 2. Leads biologic drug discovery efforts covering target validation, function validation, in vivo efficacy, etc. Coordinates with cross-functional team to move forward research projects from inception to IND filing. Oversees the progression of immune-oncology discovery projects with scientific expertise. 3. Designs and develops biological assays and conducts cell-based assays to guide preclinical studies. Analyzes and interprets the data generated. Effective presents of high-quality data and results to project teams. 4. Collaborates with external vendors such as CROs, external imaging and laboratory resources effectively to drive projects forward. Strategically manages resources to meet discovery goals. 5. Guides and trains the junior scientists, motivates the growth of a talented and aspirational team. Troubleshooting. Requirements: 1. PhD in biology/oncology/immunology with 2+ years industrial experiences in drug discovery. Strong immunology background is preferred. 2. The experiences in leading immuno-oncology R&D projects in industry in one or more of these modalities: checkpoint antibodies, bispecific antibodies and CAR-T. Strong capability in technical trouble shooting. 3. Capability to evaluate and recommend new therapeutic concepts and new targets in immunooncology areas. 4. Familiar with primary immune cell related assays. 5. Capability to lead cross-functional collaborations including managing relationships with CROs. Collaborative, team-player attitude. 6. Good written and verbal communication skills to work across functions. 7. Capability to motivate fellow team members and work with passion and enthusiasm.
