Motion Graphic Designer or Animator / 图书馆动画设计师
Position Summary
NYU Shanghai Library is seeking an experienced and talented Motion Graphic Designer / Animator to join our Research and Instructional Technology Services (RITS) unit. Embedded in the NYU Shanghai Library, this unit supports technology integration in teaching, learning and research at NYU Shanghai. The unit also works closely with its counterparts in NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi.
The specialist will be responsible for designing and producing animated elements and demonstrative visuals of a range of instructional videos for online learning. Responsibilities include consultations and collaborations with instructors in the university, development of storyboard and motion design for animation, with a focus on the NYU Shanghai Open Online Mini-Course project.
The main responsibilities include:
Animation workflows (50%)
Assist NYU Shanghai in developing animation production workflows, processes and strategies for online learning. Plan, design and produce instructional animation modules, including storyboards, editing and management of content and workflows, using the latest equipment and software.
Liaise with faculty and students (20%)
Liaise with faculty, students, and researchers in the development, production and post-production of instructional videos for online.
Consultation with faculty over design and development (15%)
Comprehensively understand course content, make frequent consultation with instructors, receive and examine design requirements for each project, create multiple storyboards and design draft for feedback and final
Working with team and project members (15%)
Work collaboratively with other video editors and project members to ensure consistency and accuracy of animated designs and the general
Qualifications
Required Education
Undergraduate degree (or above) in a related field or at least 1-2 years post graduate experience in motion graphic design or digital animation role
Required Experience
Experience in supporting tools, services and projects within a video and animation production workflow
Proven ability to implement different types of artistic styles (traditional animation, 3D computer animation, 2D vector animation and others)
Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite such as After Effect, Premiere, Photoshop & Illustrator, as well as other animating tools like Maya, Cinema 4D and Blender
Confidence in presenting and explaining animations, storyboards and designs to stakeholders
Good problem-solving and time management skills
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin
Well organized, diplomatic, detail and service oriented
Portfolio of relevant work or examples required during application
